Swaggalish on Halloween Night

It was Halloween night and, The Ownership Club hosted the launch of the SwaggCo. App.  The costumes came pouring  in from Freddy Cougar, Poison Ivy, Chucky to the Scooby Doo Gang serving  up drinks at the bar to Masquerade Rabbit winning the twerking contest. The party was bussin' fo sho. Of course you know BizMedia was in the building, shoutout to YoBlack Tye and his amazing photos on the red carpet. This was a night of true greatness and the launch of something truly spectacular, The SwaggCo. App.. I must say the event was very well put together from the location of the event 738 N Clark St, provided by Shannon and Sara Vance to the fact that everything was FREE. Free Food Free Drinks Free Entry... wow, who does that? The best part is that the vibe was absolutely dope from start to finish. Now a party is not a party without sounds and ChiBlizz The CrownHolder he kept the party rocking. The costume contest was one that was a tad debatable  but heck who wouldn't vote for the momma of the the guy who put the event together, I'm just sayin'. Overall the event was a huge success.

Salute to Asielsel Mitchell his lovely girlfriend Teanna Lewis his friends DeAngela Jamison and Raddai Brooks and his cousin Anita Foster  and congratulations to them for this amazing app and phenomenal event. Currently the app is available on the google play store for Androids and very soon will be available for the IOS users. Take time download the app and share share share.. make your post worth something by sharing on the SwaggCo. App today.

Check out all the photos from the event here...

Who’s Up Next

On Nov 3, 2021, DubLife Entertainment has impressed inspired, and entertained the masses. Three teams were put together to create a masterpiece for The Who’s Up Next reality show. On this night the teams competed for the chance to have their song selected as the new theme song for the show. The Tequila Bar quickly became the hotspot for entertainers, entrepreneurs, and other industry like-minded people. Salute to Looch for bringing out great talent and filling the room with judges with industry backgrounds from on-air radio personalities, super producers, and podcasters. Crowd control was handled by  DJ Profit and the host of the evening was MzMuffyyyy herself.

The show started with a bang and the first group went crazy the second group had the crowd jumping but the last group to touch the stage was ready ready from the appearance to the performance to the professionalism to the theme song its self Tnb Mj & Ran Dam went crazy and truly came to take the bag. When Ran Dan first hit the mic his words were, “shoutout to my designer Christos for this coat. I chose to wear this coat because I came to take the bag home”. And by all means, he did. Congratulations are in order……

Great job DubLife Ent. The Bizness Magazine gives you the ultimate Biz Salute.  Thank you for having, ThatGirlOlivia out as one of your industry judges.

Be sure to stop in every Wednesday for a taste of great talent and a good vibe for a very Wicked Wednesday. The perfect mid-week event.

It's a New Day... A Youth Takeover

A new day yes indeed. On Oct 10, 2021 Trgile Wade put on the biggest youth pop-up shop I have ever seen here in Chicago, IL. Tragil Wade, yes founder of America's Big Sister Foundation brought together over 20 different vendors ranging from the ages of 5 years old to 23 years old gathered together at Corliss High School to showcase all that they have learned over the summer while participating in America's Big Sister Foundation program.  Tragil, made it clear that she is for the youth and the betterment of our future and our future are the youth of tomorrow. I must say I am extremely thankful to radio personality Kirsten Hedrick and business owner Donice Bibbs for personally inviting me and my team to be a part of something so amazing. Not only were their young entrepreneurs at this event but there were a few businesses that are staples in the community of Corrlis highschools like Max Candle Co., Catholic Charities, Focus Faries, April D. Preyar, and a few others that made the day one could walk away from feeling inspired and motivated to do something great.

I must say that not only was I inspired but I was truly motivated and in awe by these amazing young entrepreneurs, like 7-year-old, Jenna Mosley who is the owner of Girly Boss Inc. She has been in business for about 5 months. She is now an author. She said her love for her mommy inspired her o write her book to talk about all the things she does with her mother. Another business that really awed me with Alyssa's Dream was founded by a 14-year-old young lady that started her non-profit company to help her friends stay in dance class. Alyssa stated that she was sad that her friends kept dropping out and she went to her mother and asked her how she should help. Not only is Alyssa a black ballerina, a business owner but she is also an actress most recent you may have seen her on Chicago Med, ChciagoFire, and even Empire. Alyssa has hosted events and volunteered at events like Girls Who Brunch. I can literally go on and on about this young lady but Id mich rather you read more about her in the Winter issue of The Bizness Magazine. A fan favorite by for is Vicky Mo's Fashion by Victoria. We most recently featured her clothing line in the Summer issue of The Bizness Magazine feature Twista. She not only is a clothing designer but she is tapping into her ability to interview and cover events via her live platform. Some other business that really touched my heart was the NBHD HOPE, owner of 23-year-old Amari, a graduate of Alcorn State with a Communications degree. She started her business to bring hope to her community by providing production grants that offer services like photography.

Events like this truly excite me and inspire me to continue to grow and to continue to open doors for people regardless of is they appreciate it or not. We challenge you to get involved in your community. Take a moment to care about our future, which s the youth of tomorrow. get involved and take a second to talk to the youth around you. They are waiting on you to ask them, "How are YOU?"

It's a new DAY and the YOUTH are taking over.

Mic One-Two One Two @ Check The Mic

Down the street around the corner up the elevator and out we step into a room full of MC's. Not only were there guys every where but the women seem to really be making there mark in this male dominate industry. On the stage was IPGillian dressed in all whited fitted dress a gold choker and a pair of Nike's to set it all off.  At first glance you see an elegant lady perfectly manicured and ready for the stage then as your ears begin to take over, you hear the lyrics spill from her mouth piece like a true MC perfectly pitched as she mesmerized the audience. As the night went on one MC after another took the stage and rocked the mic.

Each MC got exactly 90 seconds, a green wrist band and a number. As there group of numbers was called they lined up near the DJ, all nice and orderly, each doing there own thing to get them ready for the stage.  Some were very good and some where .... well let's just say some need to go back to the drawing board. I must say that 24/7 did a very good job at organizing this event. Some of the other favorites was _SalamThePoet, OhZeeSince92 he was a bit nervous and had a fumble but when he got back up I truly enjoyed his flow.

Finally the main attraction steps to the mic, Oriiana Jamese better known as MochaBeeZ. MochaBeeZ a graduate from  Eastern Illinois University with her BS in Health Promotion with a concentration in Emergency Management/Disaster Preparation. She is a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority a student at Illinois Media School a model, videographer and an artist/MC. This young lady is truly a star on the rise. With her small frame  and child like voice you would never think she had bars. But the language that was released from her mouth piece was love, struggle, pride, determination and strength. Be sure to take some time to follow her on IG and subscribe to her YouTube page and add her on FB. You can hear some of her tracks like Mixed Emotions on BizTalk every Monday 6pm-7pm live on windycityunderground.com or on Facebook at Illinois Media School.

If you are an artist looking to get more exposure and want your music played on BizTalk please send a short bio and two clean radio ready tracks to wowthatgirlolvia@gmail.com

Now quick disclaimer the dressing is amazing. Just the right creamy yet sweet yet very light dressing. I will be filling my fridge with it the next time I go grocery shopping.
  • ER Spaulding founder of Black Women Startup and Director of the Black CEO. I must add that this lady is strong she is powerful she is compelling she is stern yet very easy to engage with. Where everyone is ready to not only assist in building and developing their own brand and business but also willing to take a second to assist the next sister in her up-rise. Not only was the company good and the conversations enlightening but the food not only made my taste buds dance but from the sounds of the hmm's and aah's I  believe its safe to say that the food satisfied everyone's taste buds even the virgins of vegan food. From the vegan delight to the deep fried mushrooms and the Garvey Burger with a Ginger Al to wash it down I would defiantly rate, The Soul Vegetarian Restaurant , The Bizness.

Did You Miss the Laughter @ DysFunctional Fridays

The Biz Mag finally caught up with one of our favorite poets, Mz. Jae one of our past features in The Bizness Magazine. On June 20, 2014 HISTORIC HYDE PARK became home to a little DysFunctional Behavior in a extremely funny way as Mz. Jae played host to  DysFunctional Fridays which was by no means a disappoint as comedian after comedian took the stage with some very hilarious but very dysfunctional comedy that was intensely spine splitting and funny. The Lineup included the very funny and talented Aaliyah Ford from North Carolina, Khalil, Just Nesh, Ronny “ Phunny” George as well as Spoken word Artist Ed Brooke, and Mz. Jae who by the way is a bit of a comedian herself as she did a little of stand-up in between introducing each comedian. The headliner for the evening was none other than comedian STICK who was fresh off of tour with Eddie Griffin and Bruh Man. The night rain with sounds of the old and new and if you were there and didn’t get a laugh then you were not human. DysFunctional Fridays takes place every Friday night Nestled in The Heart of historic Hyde Park lies the Legendary Checkerboard Lounge known as The “Home of Blues”.

If you are here in Chicago and you are looking for a peaceful venue with loads of laughter then you need to join us.
